Second Phase Of Voter Registration Blitz Ends Today, 30 April

The second phase of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) mobile voter registration exercise ends today, 30 April 2022.

In a press statement, ZEC Chief Elections Officer Utoile Silaigwana said members of the public can still register as voters at ZEC’sdistrict and provincial offices. Read the statement:

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) wishes to advise the public that Phase 2 of the mobile voter registration exercise which commenced on the 11th of April 2022 will end on the 30th of April 2022.

However, the Commission’s 63 District and 10 Provincial offices will remain open during normal working hours for purposes of continuous voter registration in terms of Section 17A of the Electoral Act (Chapter 2:13].

The opposition CCC recently said that ZEC should extend the current voter registration blitz beyond the 30 April 2022 deadline.

CCC Bulawayo provincial spokesperson Swithern Chirowodza said the voter registration blitz period is too short and people eager to be registered will be left out.

more time please, cannot afford to pay transport charges from my area where polling officers are usually transported by chikopokopo because of the geography of my area,are we not Zimbabweans here?

Out of 10 new registered voters on cities,6 pple will vote Zpf maybe the other 2 is CCC.The statistics of previous elections is proof to that,thus the reason opposition party is calling for length voter registration period.
