Reformed Church University Reviews Fees Up To The Fury Of Students

Students at the Reformed Church University (RCU) have expressed concern over the increase in tuition fees. According to notices, seen by Pindula News, tuition fees for block students was reviewed to strictly US$$350.

Students who spoke to Pindula News said they are civil servants and, therefore, cannot afford to pay fee in United States dollars as they are paid salaries in the local currency.

They said they tried to engage authorities but their request to scrap the USD-denominated fees was ignored.

The students also said the institution pegged its fees above the official bank exchange rates in violation of legislation by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ).

I disagree my brother. We need the education.

Let's not treat the symptoms. The raising of school fees, the erosion of purchasing power, insufficient salaries and wages etc. are symptomatic of a poorly managed economy..

The ultimate solution is to change the cause - poor governance & corruption. Change the government/body politic and the economy revives.

Quietly pay your fees. The university is just adjusting its fees according to the economic realities it is faced with. Remember, it is not government owned and not responsible for how hard things are. Face the originators of the problem. Register to vote and vote. Musazonyepere vanhu kuti zvinhu zvakanaka munyika😴

Meaning Tertiary education is now for the rich only,,,if my memory saves me well... In the 90s govt used to subside on Tertiary Fees with the surplus left by the Smith regime before they decided to distribute it amongst themselves leaving the coffers dry&empty. On the independent Eve of 18April 1980,,, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere said"Zimbabweans have inherited the jewel of Africa,, plz guard it jealously" his bones are now turning in his grave
