RBZ Reserve Money As Of 4 March 2022

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has revealed the reserve money supply as of the 4th of March 2022. The central bank said in a statement:

1. Reserve money declined by ZW$79.73 million to ZW$27.13 billion during the week ending 4th March 2022, compared to the previous week’s position of ZW$27.21 billion.

2. The decline in reserve money largely reflected a decrease in required reserves of ZW$180.52 million, which was partially offset by increases of ZW$53.65 million and ZW$47.14 million in currency issued and banks’ liquidity (RTGS balances) at the Reserve Bank, respectively.

Z*** PF money as of 4 March2022

Dear Pindula

The University of Zimbabwe has unilaterally hiked the fees by 110%. This will result in students paying upto 54,000 from 29,000 per semester. This does not include accommodation fees which has been increased to 70,875. All this has happened while the ordinary parent earns a paltry 21,000 salary.

The SRC has since threatened to use "constitutional means" if the astronomical fees hike is not reduced. Please send a team on the ground to investigate this issue and let our concerns be heard.

Thank you.
