Production of Water Still Low: Harare City Council

The Harare City Council has urged residents to use water sparingly as production is still low.

Harare has been hit by water shortages for weeks for months, a set back which has been bemoaned by residents.

Council, in a statement, said production of water is still very low. Reads the statement;

City of Harare would like to advise its ratepayers and other stakeholders that water production is still low.

We are only pumping with two pumps at Morton Jaffray. One is pumping to the western suburbs while the other is pumping into town.

We received six loads of granular from Beira yesterday while our local supplier Zimphos delivered one load of chemicals.

The City Fathers however promised that the situation will improve soon.

The company has however promised to deliver three loads per day and if they keep that promise, water production will start improving and get to many locations.

We urge those receiving water to use available water sparingly until the situation normalises.
