President Emmerson Mnangagwa Thursday officially opened Madokero industrial, residential and shopping mall.
The US$7.4 million project was funded by the Public Service pension fund, according to The Herald.
The first phase of the project includes retail shop space and housing units which are already fully subscribed.
The second phase will see additional housing units, a medical centre as well as other amenities.
The facility is one of many similar investments being made by the pension fund across the country.
Madokero Estate is located about 10 kilometres away from Harare city centre and about 800m from Westgate Shopping Centre.
It is a medium and low-density suburb with over 1 700 residential stands, commercial stands, and apartments and an area suitable for light industry operations.
The Madokero Estate project began in August 2012 and was scheduled for completion by April 2014.
