The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has appealed to members of the public who might have information that can lead to the arrest of ten assailants who assaulted and killed a motorist near the National Sports Stadium in March this year. In a statement seen by Pindula News, police national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the victim died on his way to the hospital. Reads the statement:
PRESS STATEMENT 27th JULY 2022 APPEAL FOR INFORMATION IN RESPECT OF A MURDER CASE WHICH OCCURRED ALONG HARARE —BULAWAYO ROAD NEAR THE NATIONAL SPORTS STADIUM
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for Information which may lead to the arrest of ten (10) suspects involved in a murder case which occurred on 09 March 2022 near the National Sports Stadium, along Harare- Bulawayo Road.
On 09 March 2022 at around 1900 hours, the victim, Simeon Norman (31) was driving a Mercedes Benz E320 vehicle with three passengers on board, along Harare-Bulawayo Road from Harare city centre to Kuwadzana. Along the way, the victim was caught up in a dispute with the suspects who were passengers in a truck which was proceeding in the same direction. One of the suspects threw some maputi in the victim’s vehicle.
The ten (10) suspects then disembarked from the truck and attacked the victim before fleeing from the scene. The victim died on his way to the hospital.
