Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi has named the victims of the Gweru-Zvishavane fatal accident that happened on the 10th of October 2021.
The accident happened along Gweru-Zvishavane Road at the 22.5 km peg when a Toyota Granvia vehicle, with four passengers on board, lost veered off the road before overturning once and landing on its wheels after the driver had lost control.
Nyathi reported that the victims have been identified as:-
(1) Simbanai Mugonda, a male adult aged 49 of Unit 0 Seke, Chitungwiza.
(2) Netsai Mugonda, a female adult aged 42 of Unit 0 Seke, Chitungwiza.
(3) Princess Mugonda a female minor-aged three of Unit 0 Seke, Chitungwiza.
(4) Thalitha Muzezewa female adult aged 53 of Mazoe Veterinary Services Camp, Mazoe.
The ZRP urged members of the public to be road safety conscious and caution drivers who are putting the lives of passengers in danger during the course of travelling along the roads.
While some accidents are resulting from mechanical faults or the sorry state of roads, human error contributing to many road accidents and deaths.
