"Please Trust Me", Kirsty Says She Is Working To Have FIFA Ban Lifted

The Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Kirsty Coventry has pleaded with Zimbabweans to trust her as she works on finding a lasting solution to the problems bedevilling football in the country.

Zimbabwe is currently under a FIFA ban after the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) suspended the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) board led by Felton Kamambo.

Addressing the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Sports, Arts and Culture, recently, Coventry said:

You need to understand that there’s a lot happening in the background.

Unfortunately, I can’t be forthcoming with everything that is happening in the background, my plea is that you should trust me, I’m asking for your trust.

They are things that are happening, I want to promise the committee that, at the end of the day, I’m not interested in politics, the flexing of muscles, people are there to do their jobs.

My biggest goal is to protect the interest of athletes because I was also an athlete and I understand what they’re going through and it’s not okay.

And, I don’t want my athletes to miss out on any games because they will miss opportunities on the table.

So, I want to tell you that I’m doing everything in my power to make sure that there is, as the Honourable Member said, a chance of us coming together to a mutual agreement on a win-win situation.

Of course she's doing everything in her power, but there's very little you can achieve when you're surrounded by corrupt people. They are there to make a living and not create a living for others as you wish. We appreciate your efforts.

More about lady lady minister KIRSTY COVENTRY. She is married to a farmer whose farm is between Chinhoyi and KAROI. She demanded to be married in Shona tradition and his husband paid 15 head of cattle as ROORA or lobola.

Truly speaking let us give the lady minister time. She correctly said she is working tirelessly behind the scenes to have the ban uplifted. She can not brief the public on every step she takes. [[ VOTE CCC FOR REAL CHANGE ]].
