Mwonzora Rebukes ED For Likening Chamisa To Satan
MDC secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora has defended his party president Nelson Chamisa over remarks made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday. Writing on Twitter on Wednesday, Mwonzora said:
To equate your political opponent to Satan in whatever analogy is to bring further toxicity into our already poisoned politics. We need a new politics based on mutual brotherly and sisterly respect.
While addressing the media at the closing ceremony of the Zimbabwe-South Africa Bi-National Commission Summit attended by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in Harare, Mnangagwa said that he will not be moved by his opponents. He said:
We will not be swayed by negative forces because even the Lord upstairs was not able to keep his house in order; he had Satan. These things happen. He still remains there.
