Mutsvangwa Responds To Reports Saying Some ZANU PF Members Want Chiwenga To Replace ED

ZANU PF spokesperson, Christopher Mutsvangwa has dismissed reports that suggest that some members of the party want Vice President Constantino Chiwenga to replace President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Reports say there is an unwritten agreement between Mnangagwa and his deputy which states that the former will be president for a single term and hand over to Chiwenga.

The agreement is said to have been entered into in 2017 before the demise of the late former President Robert Mugabe.

In an interview with The NewsHawks, Christopher Mutsvangwa said the congress, which will be the first to be held without Mugabe who died on 6 September 2019, would pass the test of democracy.

Asked to respond to reports that some Zanu PF members want Chiwenga to replace Mnangagwa in accordance with their “unwritten agreement”, Mutsvangwa said:

“We hear rumblings to that effect from those who are outside the membership of the party. Best if they can become party members so their rumblings can get the opportunity to be debated and addressed. Otherwise, if they feel genuinely aggrieved, the 2013 constitution of Zimbabwe allows for them to form their own parties in league with those fretting outside of party structures and membership. Zimbabwe is not a one-party state.”

Mutsvangwa’s remarks come as Sybeth Musingezi, a ZANU PF card-carrying member, filed an urgent High Court application seeking a prohibitory order to interdict the ruling party’s coming congress.

He instists Mnangagwa is illegitimate since he came to power following an unlawful special session of ZANU PF’s central committee.

However, Mutsvangwa said next month’s congress will still go ahead irrespective of the court bid.

Mutsvanga is always out of sync with the Zanu pf affairs even before the coup or else is just spewing propaganda.

You think he didn't know about the coup? The 'system' is bigger than individuals. Chris is just singing for his supper otherwise he knows where the wind is blowing just like in 2017.

It doesn't matter we only love the MIGHTY ZANU PF and it shall rule forever and ever. Hallelujah!!!!

Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa just mumbled. He did not deny or admit that there was this "gentlemen's agreement" between the duo of His Excellency Advocate President ED Mnangagwa and Honourable Vice President Constantino Guvheya Chiwenga, that the President was going to rule for a single term and Vice President would then take over.

He should tell citizens whether there was that sort of agreement or not. Citizens know very well that he is a good story teller. No, they do not want stories.

He has confirmed that there is no rule of law in Zimbabwe. If there was the rule of law in Zimbabwe, he should not have declared that ZANU PF Congress was going ahead no matter what happened at the courts. In any case Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa has never been a good spokesperson like Fadzai Mahere of CCC Political Party.

Yours sincerely

Chris and George should've written books. They wasted their talents on this political party 😂

Please Tawanda, don't ever plant that idea into their minds. Please, please, please...

Not only would the product have no storyline, but would be totally unreadable because of pomposity and verbosity.

Blabbermouth Chris at it again. One thing 4 certain is Chris Mutsvangwa is afraid of his shadow. Hez oblivious of what's taking place in the corridors of power. Zanu uses him to spew vitriol and sooner rather than later he and his concubine Monica will be send packing. Zanu is indifferent to anyone claiming to be too zanuish. They will soon toss home out and he will be history. Tichaseka hedu. Here are the historical examples: Dydimus Mutasa,Joyce Mukuru,Grace Mugabe,Bob Mugabe,Lookout Masuku,Dumiso Dabengwa.

I must thank ZANU for appointing H.E. Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa as its Spokesman. Like Professor Jonathan 'Bhemba' Moyo, he is doing a sterling job of destroying ZANU from within. Not a single day passes without him passing wind, not from the usual posterior orifice, but the other further north.

Without acknowledging it, he let's us know the inner fractional fights within ZANU either on intra-party rivalry like today's topic, or intra-party ideological differences, such as the RTGS and NGO faction fight.

Either way he de-campaigns ZANU without the opposition saying anything. Comrade Mutsvangwa, you are the best thing that ever happened to Zimbabwean politics since the invention of sliced bread.
Thank You
Obrigada Signor

Blind loyalty defeats integrity especially when one is supposed to defend the party at the expense of the truth. I would expect cde Chris to choose the truth in defence of his integrity and avoid making a fool of himself. The party is mature enough to take care of itself but we choose leaders who are candid and brave.
