Man With Speech & Hearing Impairments Rapes Two Women Within An Hour

A 24-year-old man from Bulawayo who has speech and hearing impairments has appeared at Tredgold Magistrates Court facing two counts of rape.

Nkosilathi Nduze from Mgiqwa village in Ntabazinduna was remanded in custody to June 6 by magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa.

Daily News reports that on May 5 2022, at around 9 am, the complainant was coming from Lilani Primary School when she passed through a bushy area in Gwenyukwenyu.

The court heard that while in the middle of the bush, Nduze came from behind and allegedly pushed her to the ground before she fell on her back.

The prosecutors told the court that the complainant was overpowered as she struggled to free herself. Despite screaming for help, no one came to her rescue.

Resultantly, Nduze forcibly had unprotected sex with the complainant, the court heard.

The court further heard that Nduze allegedly raped his second victim who is paralytic on the same day in a space of an hour in the same bushy area.

According to prosecutors, the accused came from the back and tripped the complainant down before he signalled to her to shut her mouth or risk an unspecified action. He then allegedly forcefully had sex with the complainant once without protection.

The complainant struggled to wake up resulting in Nduze raping his victim again. Prosecutors also said Nduze then disappeared into the bush and a report was made at Ntabazinduna police station.

The opposition CCC said party leader Nelson Chamisa was physically barred from attending the funeral of Chief Mabhikwa, born Nichodemus Vusumuzi Khumalo, in Lupane on Saturday.
In a statement, CCC said officers from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and other state security agents blocked Chamisa from the late traditional leader’s funeral. The opposition party said:
Police [and] security forces have physically barred [Nelson Chamisa] from attending the funeral of Chief Mabhikwa who is closely related to several senior [CCC] members.
This is the second time that police, security forces and or ZANU PF people under the influence of [President Emmerson Mnangagwa] have physically barred [Nelson Chamisa] from attending a funeral.
The first was the 26 January 2019 funeral of music superstar Oliver Mtukudzi at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.
Coercive state apparatus are being used to exhibit behaviour which is NOT African. Talk of the absence of UBUNTU!
Chief Mabhikwa died on Monday after he was involved in a road traffic accident on Sunday in Jotsholo, about six kilometres from his homestead.
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga represented Mnangagwa at Chief Mabhikwa’s burial.
