Johanne Masowe Church Members Assault Gun-toting Man In Harare

A Johanne Masowe yeChishanu sect self-styled prophet’s aides chased a gun-toting man during a scuffle in Warren Park on Tuesday.

Madzibaba Moses, whose real name is Lloyd Gwasira, was driving in a convoy with his churchmates when Tafadzwa Matoro (37) and Elvis Borerwi (39) confronted him.

The two accused Madzibaba Moses of bewitching one of their relatives. Tafadzwa then produced a gun.

However, the two men were assaulted by Madzibaba Moses’ aides before police were called to the scene.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of the two men. He said:

Police arrested two men in connection with an attack on members of a church, who were on a prayer mission in Warren Park.

Tafadzwa produced a gun registered under a company he works for located in Borrowdale, threatening one Madzibaba Moses, accusing him of bewitching one of his relatives.

The other accused person, Elvis, works at a company located along Willowvale Road.

The two are not members of any security agency as alleged in a video circulating on social media.

Madzibaba Moses told H-Metro that knew both Tafadzwa and Elvis but didn’t know the motive of the attack. He said:

I know the two very well and they were targeting me for reasons I am yet to know.

We took the matter to the police and it is my prayer that justice takes its course.
