Job Description
ZIMCARE TRUST is inviting suitably qualified, experienced, passionate, and hardworking individuals to apply for the above-mentioned position. The successful candidate will be employed on a permanent basis after having passed the probation period.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying children/ adults in need of assistance
- Helping children/ adults cope with and solve everyday problems.
- Advocating for and developing plans to improve children/adults wellbeing.
- Conducting specialized group services, including therapeutic support groups and running parenting groups.
- Evaluating and monitoring improvement of learners.
- Conduct periodic home visits for learners.
- Assisting in the creation of individualized interventions plans for learners
- Talking with students who exhibit concerning behaviours to understanding their issues
- Identifying problems in the school setting, such as bullying or aggressive behaviour
- Assisting in the creation of individualized plans for students facing hardships at school or at home
- Researching on new ways to improve learner’s wellbeing
- Reporting to the proper authorities in cases of physical, mental, or emotional abuse of learners.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in social work and any qualification in child safeguarding
- Up to date registration with the Council of Social Workers
- Previous experience of individual counselling and working with the Department of Social Development, Police, VFU and the justice system
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Strong networking and advocacy skills
- Clean class 4 Drivers licence
