Job Summary

Burning Vision Secondary School - Dangamvura Mutare under the Responsible Authority of a faith based organisation is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced candidates for the position of School Accounts Clerk.

Reporting to the School Head and the Education Accountant, the Accounts Clerk is responsible for the School accounting function.

Duties And Responsibilities

Major Duties and Responsibilities are :

  • Receipting and Banking
  • Preparation of payment vouchers
  • Ordering and maintaining inventories for all school supplies
  • Preparation of Budgets and Reviewing Budgetary Performance
  • Preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with International Accounting Standards and IFRS
  • Preparation of Management Accounts
  • Debtors management and Creditors control
  • Establishment and maintenance of internal control systems to comply with accounting policies and procedures
  • Preparation of the cash books and bank reconciliation statements
  • Payrol management
  • Administration of salary based returns including inclusive of , PAYE, NSSA & NEC and Trade Union Dues
  • Management of financial resources including preparation of Cash flow statements
  • Maintaining the asset Register
  • Attending to internal and external auditors.
  • Any other related accounting and administration duties assigned by the supervisors

Qualifications And Experience

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • At least five (5) Ordinary level passes including English language & Mathematics or Accounts
  • Higher Diploma in Accounting from HEXCO, SAAA or IAC or:

Complete Part C - ICSAZ (CGIZ) or ACCA Part 2

  • At least 3 years hands on experience with School Accounting
  • Good working experience with Accounting package, Microsoft Excel, Word, & Payroll Administration , IFRS and IASs

  • Good interpersonal relations and communication skills
  • Understanding of Education Accounting Systems and AFM in Zimbabwe administration system is an added advantage.
