The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) is Inviting applications from suitably qualified, mature, honest and substantially experienced persons for appointment to the above challenging positions which have arisen In the Organization.

Duties And Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Technician

The applicant will be based at Head Office, Harare and reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager.


  • Implementing total quality management system at all Service Centre Water Supply stations
  • Conducting regular inspections at water supply stations and sewerage works and make recommendations for compliance with the prevailing disposal and environmental regulations.
  • Processing discharge license applications and renewals for the Catchment wastewater discharge points.
  • Interpreting and keeping of water quality data base of Catchment to safeguard the health of consumers and ensure infrastructural protection
  • Investigating and attending to upstream water pollution threats and determining appropriate treatment regime
  • Conducting safety inspections of water and sewage system and engage appropriate departments or sections on actions needed to create a less hazardous working environment
  • Assessing external proposed projects and developments and input mitigatory measures aimed at surface and groundwater protection
  • Offering advisory role on surface and groundwater quality issues to Sub-Catchment an( Catchment Council Stakeholders and give technical advice in conflict resolution Investigate water sources for independent clients; interpret analytical findings ar recommend course of action

Qualifications And Experience

  • Natural Sciences degree with any of the following degree/subjects: Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, Microbiology, Food Science or equivalent.
  • Alternatively, a National Diploma in Applied Science with vi relevant work experience.
  • Work related training In a water, food or environmental industry is a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of acts like Water Act, Health Act, Environmental Management Act, Factory and Works Act is an added advantage
  • Good laboratory skills and ability to analyse and Interpret data
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to and work with minimum supervision
