Section 154 of the Constitution stipulates that the Clerk of Parliament and other Staff of Parliament are appointed on terms of conditions of service approved from time to time by the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders (CSRO) and are Public Officers, distinct and separate from the Public Service. These appointments are on an open, performance based contract subject to the provisions of the Officers of Parliament (Terms of Service) Regulations, 2018, as amended from time to time.
Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified and experienced Zimbabwean citizens below the age of fifty (50), with a clean security, disciplinary, criminal record, to fill the permanent establishment vacant position of Public Relations Officers. Candidates with a good knowledge and practical application of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in particular ISO 9001:2015, will have a distinct advantage.

16.1 Actively promoting Parliament’s image
16.2 Handling public enquiries, correspondences and complaints
16.3 Liaising with the media on news coverage, preparation of news releases for the institution
16.4 Conducting guided tours of Parliament
16.5 Researching and producing informative publications on Parliament
16.6 Compiling and updating information on members of staff i.e. internal and external directories
16.7 Monitoring social media activities
16.8 Organizing and undertaking familiarization tours for Members of Parliament and Presiding Officers
16.9 Preparing and organizing conferences, seminars and briefings for Members of Parliament
16.10 Contributing to the Parliamentary bulletin
16.11 Conducting public education programmes
16.12 Organizing and participating in publicity-oriented events such as Zimbabwe International Trade Fair and Harare Agricultural Show
16.13 Informing Members and staff about pertinent issues, through circulars, memoranda and newsletters
16.14 Media monitoring
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A University Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism and Mass Communication
- A Public Relations Certificate or Journalism/Communication Studies an added advantage
- Competencies in the use and tracking of social media tools
- Knowledge and competences in desktop publishing, editing, filming, photography and content review on website
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience
