Job Description

A well-established company in drilling and blasting seeks to consider suitable and qualified candidates for the above position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise specified mining operations.
• Directs subordinates in the implementation and maintenance of HSE management systems in the Section.
• Emphasize mining equipment adherence to mining practices in generation, drilling & blasting and loading & hauling.
• Conducts regular pre-shift safety talks or HIRA for every mining task.
• Infrastructural development, replacement and improvement of projects in the section.
• Equips new areas for development and production.
• Explores virgin areas in compliance to mine geological development plans.
• Ensure development of pit and waste dump according to set standards.
• Ensures compliance to mining statutory regulations, safe work procedures, and code of conduct.
• Enforce built-up area blasting procedures to prevent adverse effects to the surrounding community.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mining Engineering or Equivalent
• Full Blasting License.
• 7 years’ experience in supervising drilling and blasting operations.
• Experience in charging and monitoring efficiency to minimize production costs.
• Must have traceable seven years’ experience in open cast mining production.
• Must have a Class 2 Driver’s License.
