Job Description

National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm) is a Government owned company that procures, warehouses and distributes medicines and medical supplies to health institutions nationwide. A vacancy has arisen within the company. The company is inviting applications from suitably qualified, self-motivated, honest and experienced individuals who are committed to contributing to an efficient and effective health delivery system in Zimbabwe to fill the above-mentioned post. 

The Procurement Officer will be reporting to Chief Buyer and will be esponsible for Procurement process and maintenance of all procurement records. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe
  • Sourcing and developing good relationships with suppliers in order for NatPharm to acquire goods and services at advantageous terms which include value for money, cost savings and best quality services. 
  • Procurement of goods and services. 
  • Sourcing of quotations from approved suppliers. 
  • Processing purchase orders and ensuring their dispatch. 
  • Facilitating the procurement process.
  • Managing of proper procurement procedures as enshrined in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public AssetsAct and Regulations as well as NatPharm Procurement Policy and procedure documents. 
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts. 
  • Ensuring that invoices and all proof of supplies are recorded and sent for payment. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Honours Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management or equivalent. 
  • 5 Ordinary Levels' including Mathematics and English. 
  • At least 1 year post qualification experience in a public sector entity. 
  • Excellent problem solving and judgment skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
