Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of Mobile Network Operators’ private APNs and VPNs with 3rd party payment processors such as Orange, Paynet, Zimswitch, VISA and Mastercard.
  • Recommend appropriate hardware and software, managing the roll out of new equipment and systems, and ensuring that corrective and preventative measures are performed on existing equipment and systems.
  • Review documentation of physical and logical network diagrams for all networks in the organisation.
  • Monitor bandwidth capacity utilization and take precautions to prepare for future demand.
  • Ensure that change control policies are followed when implementing network-related changes.
  • Oversee the upgrades of IOS images to current version or patch levels for all networking equipment on the organization’s network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Determine security needs and perform system security analysis, including identifying integration issues.
  • Lead incident response, including actions to minimize impact, and conduct technical and forensic investigations into how the breach occurred and the extent of the damage.
  • Review all system documentation for Networking Architectures, devices and systems.
  • Lead the design and implementation of disaster recovery networks, and synchronization of network designs and software versions between the Live and DR networking infrastructure.
  • Lead and provide direction for the design, implementation and optimization of the VOIP infrastructure and its related software including IPO PBXs and call management systems.
  • Collaborate with system vendor for upgrades to VOIP, video and Contact Centre operating systems.
  • Lead, manage and direct the support team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology.
  • Certification in Routing and Switching and Security (CCNP, CCSP, CISSP, CCNA, CEH or equivalent
  • ITIL Foundation and other relevant certifications.
  • 5 Years’ experience of Computer networking in an organization with a WAN environment.
