Job Summary

Shamva Gold Mine is looking to bring on board an experienced and competent Mine Planning Engineer.

The Role

To prepare and issue implementable short term to medium plans and objectives based on tons and grade of gold, taking into account all modifying factors, losses etc.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Preparing and issuing of mine plans (short to medium term) and schedules relating to the production and supporting auxiliaries.
  • Maintaining and monitoring all mine planning including geological resource models, survey data, pit design, productivity trends and process recoveries
  • Providing accurate mine plans to support production, drill and blast teams.
  • Planning and conducting surveys, tests or investigations, interpret results and prepare recommendations, summaries, schedules and cost estimates.
  • Maintaining and updating Mine Planning-related MRM policies and procedures Contributing to continuous improvement and asset optimization initiatives to enhance mining processes.
  • Coordinating with representatives of other departments to plan and implement priority activities on time and within budget.
  • Assisting in developing forecasts, physical and operating budget estimates
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices.

Qualifications And Experience

  • University Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical or operational capacity in an underground mine.
  • Experience in the design of mining plans and schedules in the area of development and production.
  • Excellent knowledge of mine design and support software used in the underground mining industry: Surpac, Datamine, Vulcan, AutoCAD, Total Station, MS Office, etc.
