Job Summary

Mwenezi Development Training Centre (MDTC) is a community-based organization operating in Mwenezi, Masvingo, Chiredzi, and Beitbridge districts. MDTC implements diversified community development and humanitarian programmes which are funded by various funding partners. MDTC has recently been given an award to implement a one-year USAID funded programme on “Strengthening resilience to enhance food security and nutrition of vulnerable rural communities to cope with recurrent shocks and stressors in Chiredzi district of Zimbabwe”.

Project: Strengthening resilience to enhance food security and nutrition of vulnerable rural communities to cope with recurrent shocks and stressors in Chiredzi district.

Reports to: Field Supervisor

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for effective community mobilization and sensitization for USAID programme activities at ward level.
  • Stakeholder coordination at ward level working closely with ward-based government technical line ministries i.e., Agritex, Veterinary Department and Rural District Council.
  • Develop activity plan for all field activities monthly and submit to the Field Supervisor for approval.
  • Conduct baseline survey for the project together with the other team members.
  • Monitor project progress and provide feed-back to the Field Supervisor, with the support of and in close cooperation with the M&E.
  • Guide enumerators during the registration process (where necessary) ensuring that registration of targeted people has been conducted as per set standards and finally registering selected people in beneficiary data base.
  • Avail beneficiary training material for livestock activities to ward-based government technical stakeholders i.e., attendance registers with completed names, stationery and agreed syllabus and collection of completed registers for weekly reporting.
  • Produce reports on help desk, suggestion box related issues and programme meetings minutes.
  • Ensuring proper record keeping (filing) relating to livestock related activities (i.e., primary registers, attendance registers, training material, training summary reports), Non-Food Items (NFI) inventory.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Minimum: Diploma in Agriculture Management, Animal Science, or equivalent.
  • Experience
  • Minimum: 3 years proven experience in livestock development programme in Zimbabwe.
  • Experience with practical field implementation of resilience building projects specifically livestock.
  • Good computer skills/knowledge in SPSS, ODK, Microsoft office package and web conferencing applications.
  • Class 3 drivers licence.
