FULBRIGHT 2023-24 African Scholar Program - US Embassy

Alert: Application Deadline Expired

Application deadline: April 1, 2022

The U.S Embassy Public Diplomacy Section announces the Fulbright African Scholar program to conduct postdoctoral research or a curriculum development program during the 2023/24 academic year at a U.S academic or research institution. We strongly encourage applicants to incorporate activities that build university partnerships between Zimbabwean higher education and U.S. universities. The premier international educational exchange program sponsored by the United States Department of State, the United States Congress annually appropriates the funds for the Fulbright program.

Research Grants

Awards of 3 to 9 months to conduct research in any academic discipline at a U.S. academic or research institution beginning no earlier than August 2023 and no later than March 2024. Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in their fields at the time of application.

Curriculum Development Grants

Awards of 3 to 5 months to conduct research in any academic discipline at a U.S. academic or research institution beginning no earlier than August 2023 and no later than March 2024. Proposals should link professional duties and demonstrate how the scholar will use the knowledge gained to develop new courses, curricula, or other academic programs at the home institution. Designed for university faculty or administrators with less experience, these grants support academics who may not have had recent access to research or instructional developments in their disciplines. A doctorate degree is not required, but applicants must hold a minimum of a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
