Job Description
Responsible for the financial well-being of the company. To develop strategies and plans for the company’s financial objectives, produce financial reports, direct investment, and expenditure activities. Responsible for the accounting activities of the company. Producing accounting reports and developing strategies based on accounting research. Guiding senior executives in making sound business decisions in the long and short term.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Record and analyse all accounts receivable transactions
- Monitor and analyse all financial transactions of the business
- Assess claims before they are paid out.
- Conduct internal audit
- Monitor the allocation, loading and deduction of fees from the blue cards
- Review cash funeral prices and authorise discounts where necessary
- Review and present financial statements, business activity reports and financial forecasts.
- Develop, maintain and analyse budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Manage work activities of finance department employees such as cashiers and finance clerks
- Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, commitments and obligations to project future revenue and expenses or to provide advice.
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislations and statutory policies
- Conduct regular meetings with all the finance department staff
- Analyse business productivity and advice departmental heads on ways to increase income collection
- Conduct monthly meetings with departmental managers
- Prepare the payroll and tax returns
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Develop systematic record keeping
- Generate financial reports that display the company’s profits/losses, equity, and cash flow
- Adhere to high ethical and professional standard
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Finance or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the similar position
