Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill in the position of Field Officer (Grade 11) that has arisen in our organization on a 1-year fixed term employment contract basis. The successful candidate will be based in Mashonaland West.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and leading horticultural production activities.
- Ensure adequate inputs are securely stocked and effectively managed i.e., seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, fuel and other supplies.
- Ensure inputs stock drawdowns are properly recorded and monitored.
- Update project stakeholders on key field operation activities.
- Implement and monitor day-to-day activities in liaison with project stakeholders i.e., implementing plans and schedules for planting, crop management, harvesting and crop marketing.
- Develop a protocol/handbook on the production of export horticultural crops.
- Keep proper financial records for reporting and audit purposes.
- Assist in overseeing all operations and asset use, maintenance, and safekeeping.
- Produce weekly. and monthly activity reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- A diploma in Agriculture, Crop Science or Horticulture.
- Prior experience in farm management and horticulture is an added advantage.
- 2-3 years relevant working experience.
- A clean class 3 driver's licence is a must.
