Summary

The Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare of the Republic of Zimbabwe in partnership with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Rwanda under the auspices of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 23rd December 2021, is recruiting competent Zimbabwean educational personnel to be employed in Rwanda. 

Job Responsibilities

• Undertake independent teaching at undergraduate, honors and postgraduate level including: designing, conducting and moderating assessment; implementing improvements informed by course evaluation activities and student feedback. 

• Undertake independent professional activities, scholarship and/or conduct high quality research activities appropriate to the profession or discipline including: managing individual projects within timelines and budgets and ensuring compliance with quality and reporting requirements; publishing research results of high quality as lead or co-author; preparing and submitting external research funding applications; and supervising higher degree by research candidates. 

• Undertake administration duties, which may include course and program coordination role or management of award programs. 

Minimum Qualification

  • PhD. degree in Railway Engineering, Railway systems engineering and integration from recognized university with bachelor's in Civil engineering and railway engineering is a must The candidate should have 3years in Railway construction projects and at least 1 year teachinical experience, or
  • Master's degree in Railway Engineering, Railway systems engineering and integration from a recognized university with bachelor's in Civil engineering and railway engineering is must. The candidate should have 5years in Railway construction projects and at least 2-ye teaching experience, 

Key competences

  • Specialized in Railway construction technologies (Track, bridges and tunnels),
  • Proven competence in railway track inspection and maintenance.
  • Ability to determine and select appropriate railway construction materials.
  • Excellent knowledge in testing railway construction materials.
  • Ability to perform rail welding and rail grinding.
  • Strong understanding of steps of topographic map production.
  • Strong understanding of strength of materials.
  • Ability to perform railway alignment, track and structures design as well as their facilities.
  • Strong understanding in managing railway construction projects.
  • Excellent in technical drawing and able to use some CAD Software.
  • Ability to operate CAD programme.
  • Strong understanding of techniques being used in surveying to capture primary spatial data.
  • Strong understanding of remote sensing techniques used for primary spatial data capture.
