Section 154 of the Constitution stipulates that the Clerk of Parliament and other Staff of Parliament are appointed on terms of conditions of service approved from time to time by the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders (CSRO) and are Public Officers, distinct and separate from the Public Service. These appointments are on an open, performance based contract subject to the provisions of the Officers of Parliament (Terms of Service) Regulations, 2018, as amended from time to time.
Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified and experienced Zimbabwean citizens below the age of fifty (50), with a clean security, disciplinary, criminal record, to fill the permanent establishment vacant position of Executive Assistants. Job Description
Reporting to the Principal Director External Relations and Parliamentary Programme Coordinator, the successful candidates will be responsible for, among other duties, the following:
20.1Providing supporting secretarial services to the respective Principal Director
20.2Handling incoming and outgoing calls
20.3 Taking minutes of all meetings chaired by the respective Principal Director, as may be required
- Organizing meetings for the respective Principal Director
- Managing of an appointment register for the respective Principal Director
- Typing all correspondences in the Principal Director i.e. letters, memorandums, minutes and reports
- Managing records in the Principal Director’s Office and in liaison with the central registry department (hard and soft copies)
- Professional handling of stakeholders/visitors in the Office
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- A Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies(HEXCO/IAC) with 50 wpm Advanced Typing and 80 wpm shorthand
- Degree in Office Administration, a distinct and added advantage
- 5 “O” Levels at grade C or better including English Language
- Microsoft Office Packages/or ICDL
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good Public Relations
- At least 2 years relevant working experience
