Job Description
The National Economic Consultative Forum (NECF), a Public-Private Partnership Organization is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above mentioned posts. The Economists will report to the Manager, Economic Research and the Manager PolicyAnalysis of the Organization.
The position of Economist is responsible for conducting research and using understanding of economic relationships to uncover trends and analyze the collected data to produce forecasts of economic trends, determine the implications of his/her findings and make recommendations on ways improve economic efficiency as well as analyzing proposed policies, evaluating the effects of existing policies on the economy and recommending alternative solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting surveys and coming up with economic forecasts.
- Evaluating the effects of existing policies and Government programs.
- Organizing stakeholder meetings.
- Writing minutes and various technical and non-technical reports on economic trends and forecasts emanating from stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Economics.
- Possess management skills and motivation to be able to efficiently organize own time and assess priorities within own area of responsibility.
- A versatile self-starter who demonstrates leadership potential and a keen interest in micro and macro- economics and public policy.
- Ability to maintain a broad focus on, and interest in current affairs that relate to the NECF.
- Is able to work well under tight deadlines, sometimes heavy loads and with a high degree of individual responsibility, all of which are implicit in the position.
- Aminimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.
