We have been retained by our client, the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe to facilitate the recruitment and selection of self-driven and competent personnel to fill the vacant position of a Director Operations that has arisen within their organization.
Principal Accountabilities
- Develops and implements Operations strategies according to the company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.
- Ensures full understanding of the Operations strategies by all business units and participates in the quarterly business unit reviews.
- Monitors adherence to net policies, procedures, and good corporate governance. Defines the scope of the Operations department in relation to technical issues to ensure the adherence to professional standards.
- Develops a framework to be used to identify the activities of the division and develop flow charts on departmental core activities so as to ensure accountability and responsibility by technical personnel.
- Oversees the formulation and compilation of departmental budgets to facilitate adequate planning and ensures approval by the Managing Director for incorporation in main budget.
- Proposes and approves capital expenditure projects to expand capacity or improve operations.
- Oversees daily operations of the department including planning, implementing, and evaluating effective staff work schedules and assignments to ensure the achievement of the Organisational mandate.
- Understands the strategic direction of the business and implements strategies in support of the business mandate.
- Researches on best practice and disseminates the same to the relevant stakeholders. e
- Develops concept papers on road traffic issues and lobbies positive programs to drive the mandate.
- Allocates resources to the team on specific projects through the Finance department as well as deploy personnel and resources to enable the mandate of the Organisation to be realized.
- Develops and implements rules and standards that stand as benchmarks on road safety to be observed by driving schools and contribute to the quality of education provided at these schools.
- Maintains contact with the industry and other establishments whose functions and operations directly interface on the work of TSC7 so as to create fruitful partnerships.
- Manages and coordinates stakeholders for information dissemination and feedback purposes on areas of mutual interest.
Job Related Attributes
The ideal incumbent must possess the following minimum qualifications, competences and experience:
- Degree in Business Studies or equivalent / Operations Management / Social Sciences and Education
- Master's Degree in Transport /MBA/Master's in Strategic Management/Operations Management as an added advantage
- Experience of the transport Management sector will be an added advantage.
- 5 Years' experience at Senior Managerial level.
