Job Summary
The candidate will be Reporting To: Director-General
Duties And Responsibilities
- Providing technical and administrative oversight of the Macro-Economic Division;
- Plan and provide guidance and supervision to the development of macro-economic statistics, as well as the Division's methodological and research work, and lead relevant in the production of reports, surveys and publications;
- Production of macroeconomics statistics intel to national accounts statistics, labour statistics, prices statistics, balance of payments and finance statistics;
- Establish, develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external data providers and users from all sectors; Prepare annual program of work, objectives and priorities, budget documents and direct the Division's activities,
- Advocacy for statistics and assessing methodology to satisfy user demands;
- Develop Of improve calculation methodologies of indicators in accordance with international standards;
- Ensure the quality of produced economic statistics adhere to international best practices; and Ensure the implementation of relevant Acts, Procedures and regulations
Qualifications And Experience
- A Master's degree in Economics or equivalent with a quantitative bias is a most At least 10 years of relevant post qualification experience of which five (5) years should have been at managerial level
- Thorough knowledge of the main economic data sources, and ability to source data and tell a story with the data Experience of utilising quantitative (economic, econometric, statistical) techniques
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism
- Knowledge of international best practices in censuses and surveys
- Proven ability to creatively respond to problems and to mobilize other actors to respond where necessary;
- Strong interpersonal and team skills, and ability to work effectively with internal, external partners in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentational skills; and Strong computer skills.
