Job Description:

Industrial Psychology Consultants (Pvt) Ltd has been contracted by an organisation whose focus is on community and enterprise development to assist with the recruitment and selection of a suitable candidate for the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Key responsibilities of the CEO

Strategy Execution

  • Lead in the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategy within the Board’s mandate
  • Ensure internal organisational alignment on Strategy
  • Ensure delivery of the organisation’s mandate

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage execution of the organisation’s budget
  • Funding and Treasury management to meet the organisational programs

Financial reporting

  • Design, develop, implement and oversee the sustainable growth of the organisation’s income generating and local enterprise development projects, operating within Board approved parameters.
  • Manage the organisations resources and ensure their effective deployment

People Leadership

  • Provide leadership to a cross-discipline team with a shared vision to deliver on the organisation’s objectives
  • Build capacity and oversee growth of employees to ensure sustainable roll out of programmes that impact the community in its diversity (incl women, youth and people with disability)

Stakeholder Management

  • Carry out periodic community needs assessments, evaluations and subsequent capacity building of communities.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and sound stakeholder engagement and resource mobilisation skills
  • Develop and nurture key national and international stakeholder relationships relevant to the organisation

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure timely reporting to the Board
  • Ensure high-level integrity, transparency, and accountability in all forms of business interaction.
  • Ensure effective risk management and controls to safe- guard the organisation and its assets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Business/Commercial degree or Equivalent
  • MBA or other relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in relevant, progressively responsible leadership positions
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring strategic plans
  • Demonstrate ability in working with Government agencies, development partners and communities
  • Proven passion for community development
  • Record of innovation and demonstrated ability to inspire, lead and manage employees and stakeholders
  • Experience in managing significant budget
  • High levels of business acumen and experience in managing business enterprises
  • Experience in community development is an added advantage
