Business Incubation and Development Manager

Job Description

Applications are invited for the above senior position that has arisen in the University (Research, Innovation And Business Development).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing and executing strategy for outreach, hunting, attracting and on-boarding deserving and qualified innovative entrepreneurs, and start-ups.
• Developing, executing and owning an operational and engagement strategy for the entire community including donors, start-ups, investors, corporates, mentors, advisors, and domain experts.
• Designing and managing Incubation and Acceleration programs.
• Providing high-quality coaching and advisory support to entrepreneurs and start-ups in business development fundraising activity.
• Qualifying and evaluating applicants for creativity, innovation, acceleration and investment stage. Managing the day-to-day interaction with the I ncubatees.
• Providing support to entrepreneurs across ideation, acceleration, investment and scale-up stage.
• • Ensuring tight management of milestones and progress of entrepreneurs and start-up companies.
• Developing and implementing new initiatives for incubation service offerings to entrepreneurs and start-ups.
• Growing the brand equity of the Incubator forum.
• Assisting entrepreneurs in proposal writing, pitch deck, business development, fundraising as well as relevant linkages to established companies for business opportunities.
• Developing and leveraging industry, academia, investors and institutional networks for the benefit of the incubation program.
• Developing and managing a network of entrepreneurs, start-ups, mentors, institutions, funding agencies, investors and industries.
• Ensuring development of appropriate marketing material to promote incubated companies.
• Organising events to facilitate collaborations, technology tie-up, and business development.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least five "0" Level passes including English Language and Mathematics, and a Master's degree in Business Management and Administration or equivalent.
• A PhD, PMP/Prince2 qualification is an added advantage.
• The successful candidate should have at least 5 years' relevant working experience, good interpersonal and leadership skills and possess vast knowledge in business development strategies, experience and awareness of governance, and financial & risk management.
• The candidate should be proactive and be able to work according to strategic direction.
• The candidate should also have experience of working on a portfolio of products, and securing new business while retaining existing business within a competitive environment.
