Assistant Committees Officer - Karoi Town Council

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Smooth administration of Committees' work, and knowledge of general administration of the Committees Section
  • Preparing agendas, minutes, and schedules of meetings for main Council and Committees
  • Capturing of minutes of main Council meetings and distributing the minutes according to agreed protocol
  • Keeping records of minutes and other relevant reports
  • Preparing and ensuring updates of Council Standing Orders and kink de of Ethics for Councillors
  • Ensuring availability of relevant Acts during main Council and Committee meetings
  • Preparing the Chamber for meetings
  • Coordination of programs for Councillors outside Committee meetings
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Client Liaison & Committees Officer

Qualifications and attributes

  • Social Science Degree, Communication or equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in minute taking and general office administration
  • Knowledge of governance systems and processes
  • Experience in preparation and distribution of agendas and minutes of meetings
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality
