Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily supervision of the Commercial Enterprises Accounts Office
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of all Commercial Enterprises’ accounts
- Assisting in Financial and Management Reporting for the section
- Payroll Administration for Commercial Enterprises
- Reviewing bank, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and general ledger reconciliation timeously and on a monthly basis
- Ensuring accuracy of all bank, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and general ledger transactions
- Reviewing and Recommending Improvements to the Commercial Enterprises section Internal Control Systems
- Undertaking Capital Investment Appraisal
- Liaison with bankers, debtors, creditors, internal and external and other relevant partners
- Preparation of Audit Schedules and attending to Auditors’ requests / queries
- Ensuring proper safekeeping of all accounting records
- Any other duties as assigned by the Bursar or Deputy Bursar
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Accounting from a reputable University
- Possession of a professional Accounting Qualification
- Masters’ Degree in Accounting would be an added advantage
- Costing background a must
- A qualification and experience in Payroll Administration
- Extensive Practical knowledge of Pastel Evolution Accounting System
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position / role
- Excellent Communication, Interpersonal and Leadership Skills
- Attention to Detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
