Information Secretary Nick Mangwana Dismisses "Chiwenga Is On Honeymoon" Tweet

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana has disowned a Twitter post attributed to him which claimed that acting Health Minister Constantino Chiwenga is on honeymoon. 

The purported tweet was issued in response to health workers’ industrial action this Monday over poor salaries and working conditions. The disowned post read:

Peaceful protests has been accepted in this country especially in this New Dispensation. We all know that the minister of Health has just been married and he’s currently in Honeymoon therefore why don’t we have patience with him to come back and address your griviences.

Mangwana suggested that the post was created to distract him from what he set to accomplish describing the move as “pathetic.” He added:

Just for the record, the VP is at work. He is not on vacation. He attended the burial of the National Hero today and he was in Bikita on Friday.

Health practitioners, mostly Nurses and junior Doctors at Parirenyatwa Hospital went on strike as notified last week. They demonstrated at the Health Services Board offices.
