Harare Issues Water Supply Update: 5 September 2022

Harare City Council (HCC) this Monday issued an update on the water crisis that has seen residents going without water for weeks. The local government authority attributes the erratic supply of water to “unprecedented chemical supply challenges.” In the latest update seen by Pindula News, HCC said:

Water supply update

The City is currently producing a total of 302.6 mega litres a day. To meet the prevailing demand schedule, the city requires 400 mega litres.

Mabvuku, Tafara, Greendale and Msasa Park got water today though there could be low pressure in some parts of Msasa Park. Msasa area also got water today.

We are currently pumping to Hatcliffe and residents will get water starting tomorrow.

Areas such as Mt Pleasant, Vainona, Avenues, the CBD and Sentosa currently have water supplies while Dzivaresekwa and Bluffhill will start getting water this evening.

There has been delayed supply to Glen Norah and Glen View and residents should expect water starting tomorrow.

Budiriro will start getting water on Friday.

A snap survey by Pindula News observed that water supply has been erratic in some suburbs while some have been without water for a prolonged period of time.
