Govt Releases ZWL$2.68 Billion For Teachers’ Children Fees

Govt Releases ZWL$2.68 Billion For Teachers’ Children Fees

The Government has released ZWL$2.68 billion for the payment of school fees for over 100 000 teachers’ children.

This was announced by Public Service Commission (PSC) secretary Jonathan Wutawunashe at a press conference on Friday.

The money will cover first term fees for 103 556 children from 52 171 teachers.

In February this year, the Government committed to pay school fees for teachers’ children.

Announcing the non-monetary benefits for teachers, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services said, then:

Payment of school fees for up to three biological children per teaching family, with an upper limit of ZWL$20 000 per child per term, paid directly to the school.

You should just restore their 2018 salaries or pay them RTGS$ equivalent. If you do that they would be able to pay school fees for their kids in schools of their choice

@Blue 🔵,I think you are a Stup*d fool suffering from are just a little boy seeking attention,ok? Surplus my foot!!!shall we suffer in the name of surplus.and what is surplus if what's on the table isn't enough??

zimdollar 1 month ago

Iwe blue you can not claim to ha surplus when you have not met your obligations, in this case the correct civil servants salaries. A sound economy should benefit the citizens instead of lying that there is surplus where there is none. One plus one will never be three but will always be two.

Blue 🔵 1 month ago

It's not that easy. If salaries get restored, the overall costs would robe the government of any surpluses that would be used in road construction for example. Debts cannot be serviced if a country has no surpluses. This abusive mentality has to stop first. This self sabotage
If they are given ZWL equivalent, the black market will just lick it's lips and erode peoples earnings

Wangu, chingoti 540 multiplied by number yema teacher, only teachers. Government won't have any surplus. It's not like they can't do it, but they won't do it. Every civil servant salary restored then that would be a goodbye to infrastructure development

No they do not manipulate the exchange rate.It is jst that demand for USD increase as supply of Zimdollars increase .no one wants to keep Zimdollars its nt a stable currency.Who controls the supply of money an other fundermentals?

Blue 🔵 1 month ago

That's a noble idea 💡, however, if your brothers and sisters on the streets know that teachers salaries have been increased, they'll just manipulate the exchange rate. At the end of the day no one wins.
