Government Announces Robert Gabriel Mugabe Commendation Award For Service To Human Development

The government is inviting nominations of deserving Zimbabwean Citizens for the “ROBERT GABRIEL MUGABE COMMENDATION AWARD FOR SERVICE TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT.”

In a statement released by Misheck Sibanda, these individuals are people who distinguished themselves through outstanding service to human capital development. Pindula News presents Sibanda’s statement:

ROBERT GABRIEL MUGABE COMMENDATION AWARD FOR SERVICE IN HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

Government intends to award deserving Zimbabwean Citizens with the Robert Gabriel Mugabe Commendation Award for Service in Human Capital Development. The individuals should be luminaries who have distinguished themselves through `outstanding, transformative service in human capital development that has opened up and achieved growth in new economic sectors while ensuring inclusivity.’

The Government of Zimbabwe, therefore, invites nominations of people eligible for conferment with this Award. Note that each nomination should be accompanied by a justification in the form of a brief detailed profile on the achievements for which the individual is deemed deserving of this special recognition and national honour. You may present your nomination in the form of a citation, which will be used when the individual is awarded the special honour or in the form of a relevant document which celebrates and immortalises the achievement for posterity.

I HAVE ALWAYS SAID PEOPLE MUST GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE. ZIMBABWE GOVERNMENT HAS SEEN IT FIT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE GOOD WORK WHICH THE LATE FORMER PRESIDENT ROBERT GABRIEL MUGABE DID IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT.

I AGREE WITH THE GOVERNMENT. THERE WERE SO MANY HUMAN DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS WHICH THE LATE FORMER PRESIDENT INITIATED.

AT INDEPENDENCE IN 1980, HE INTRODUCED FREE PRIMARY SCHOOL EDUCATION. ZIMBABWE HAD ONE UNIVERSITY AT INDEPENDENCE IN 1980. THERE WERE NOT LESS THAN TEN UNIVERSITIES AT THE TIME HE WAS REMOVED UNCEREMONIOUSLY BY A COUP DE TAT IN 2017.

TODAY ZIMBABWE LABOUR IS CHERISHED WORLD WIDE BECAUSE IT IS WELL DEVELOPED. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, GREAT BRITIAN, AUSTRALIA, NEWSLAND AND CANADA ARE STAMPEDING TO RECRUIT ZIMBABWEAN DOCTORS AND NURSES TO WORK IN THEIR HOSPITALS AND CARE GIVING HOMES.

ZIMBABWE GOVERNMENT HAS SIDE STEPPED DIFFERENCES IN POLITICS AND HAS SEEN IT FIT TO ACKNOWLEDGE GOOD WORK DONE BY THE LATE FORMER PRESIDENT.

THIS IS OUR CHERISHED HISTORY WHICH WE CAN NOT SWEEP UNDER THE CARPET. IT IS OUR HISTORY WHICH WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF AS ZIMBABWEANS.

THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO BENEFITED FROM THE FORMER PRESIDENT'S HUMAN DEVELOPMENTAL INITIATIVES. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THIS INITIATIVE SEEKS TO IDENTIFY AND RECOGNISE.

YOURS FAITHFULLY
