Epworth Woman Arrested For Selling "Dangerous Drugs"

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested a woman from Epworth, Harare for selling “dangerous” drugs at her house.

Police confirmed the arrest in a statement this Monday. Pindula News presents the statement:

Detectives in Harare acted on a tip off and arrested Patricia Munyengeri (38) at her house in Epworth for unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs. The suspect was found in possession of 20kg x 13 bags of loose dagga weighing 260 kg.

In a related case, Detectives in Mutare who were on patrol along Mutare –Chimanimani Road arrested Chenal Mukungatu (34) on the 31st of December last year for illegal possession of 21kg of dagga (marijuana along Dangamvura Link Road.

Meanwhile, Detectives in Harare acted on a tip-off and arrested Jennifer Mahachi (28) for possession of unregistered medicines for sale. The suspect was found in possession of 50 x 100 ml of Broncleer syrup.

Broncleer syrup is a codeine-based cough syrup that contains both alcohol and 16.9% codeine. This combination product is used to treat symptoms caused by the common cold, flu, allergies, hay fever, or other breathing illnesses but it is being used on the streets as consumers get high after consumption.
