Duo Arrested For Murder At A Beer Binge

Two men have been arrested in connection with a murder that occurred at a beer binge at Carmen Farm in Esigodini on Sunday. 

Police say the duo, Mncedisi Ncube and Thobani Khumalo (26) together with one, only known as “Boss”, assaulted the victim with stones and logs following a dispute. Police said in a statement:

The ZRP confirms the arrest of Mncedisi Ncube and Thobani Khumalo (26) in connection with a case of murder that occurred at Carmen Farm, Esigodini on 12/12/21.

The two suspects, together with one, only known as “Boss”, fatally assaulted Lawrence Khumalo (23) all over the body with stones and logs after a misunderstanding over an undisclosed issue at a beer binge.

On noticing that the victim was unconscious, the suspects threw the victim into Umzingwane River. The body was later found floating in the river with a deformed skull 13/12/21.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Peter Tshuma Fuyane (30) who is being sought by the police in connection with a case of murder of his girlfriend, Silethokhuhle Gumbo.

It is alleged that Tshuma severely assaulted Gumbo on the 12th of December at about 2200 hours on allegations of infidelity.

The victim’s condition deteriorated and succumbed to the injuries on Tuesday the 14th of December 2021.
