Security personnel at Parliament on Wednesday attempted to block CCC MPs led by Tendai Biti from entering the august House for wearing yellow ties.
This came after National Assembly Speaker Jacob Mudenda on Tuesday directed CCC legislators not to wear anything yellow following protests by ZANU PF legislators.
Yesterday, Mudenda revealed that CCC attire would be investigated to establish if it did not violate Parliamentโs Standing Rules and Orders. He said:
I have been checking on the provisions of standing orders, I shall rule as follows, there should be a meeting of representatives from the government side led by the leader of government business (Ziyambi Ziyambi) and the ZANU PF chief whip (Pupurai Togarepi) and from the other side, we get a representative so that we look closely at the standing orders and come up with a conclusion.
instead of going there to start a fresh debate aside from that duty they were sent there by the people why can't they just leave those ties behind and get into the building and move on with the duties of the day. Us voters also is our duty to tell those guys to not do as per their promises during the campaign period we are the people and they get every power from us , let them not kill people's time by bringing in things that are of no benefit to the people
blessing do they get a free passage if they are not formally dressed
i believe the yellow colour was only on ties and formal shirts
