"CCC Is Strong In Rural Areas" - Chamisa

The Nelson Chamisa-led Citizens Coalitions for Change (CCC) which won 19 constituencies and several wards in the 26 March by-elections say the party is popular in the rural areas.

Speaking to journalists at a press conference in Harare on Monday, Chamisa said he is ready to show the ruling party that his party is popular with the rural electorate. He said:

This whole lie that the countryside belongs to Zanu PF is a fallacy, it’s a hoax, we are very strong in the rural areas, that is why people are intimidated, no majority party intimidates its own supporters, there is no violence that is used by strong people, weak people resorts to violence, that’s why Zanu PF instrument of choice in dealing with electorate and citizens is violence, because they are not supported particularly in the countryside.

Had it not been for the conditions that are not free and biased in favour of Zanu PF, we would have scored over 25 of the 28. The people have done it, the citizens of Zimbabwe have done it. We moved from zero to 19 in parliament and I can tell you that in 2023 it’s going to be a whitewash. It going to be a big victory. We want to have two thirds majority in parliament. We want to turn the parliament yellow.

He also accused the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission of siding with the ruling party dismissing their claims that they had not received any complaints from CCC prior to the 26 March by-elections.

The former ICT minister said there were issues with the voters’ roll despite the landslide victory. He said there is a need for:

a). fundamental reforms around the voters’ roll

b). making sure that results are managed in a better way

c). making polling stations violence-free,

Meanwhile, MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora has bullishly claimed that he will bounce back in future elections saying the party has previously come from a disadvantage.

Khamisa should eschew political joking. MDC _CCC being popular in Zimbabwe rural areas? My foot! Slip of a tongue?. He meant to say UNPOPULAR . May be he is hallucinating about sanctions brewing USA rural votes which are not accepted by our constitution. Kkkkkki.

If God could change the system of Zambia and make way for Hachilima, can't He God do the same thing for a nation like Zimbabwe.
Come December 31crossover,many will be declaring 2023 a year of change.
2023 will be marked a year of change, change is certain and everyone wants change.
if the majority rally for change,no one will stand on their way.
The people of Jericho never thought the walls of Jericho will fall down, but it happened through Joshua.
So we have our present day Joshua, whose leading the people to march around the walls of Jericho. And as long those who are leading the people, will do the rightful thing.

With one voice the public customary court will shout once again with a loud voice, and the walls of Jericho will fall down.

2023 even the youths who weren't on the voters roll, will be there for 2023 and the change is certain.

If God could use Joshua why not the present Joshua.

Great ! Yes ZanuPf will continue Tongi-ing Zimbabwe. Why should the majority vote for stooges of the West led MDC _CCC political faction? Cui bono? We have democracy in Zimbabwe and the majority will continue to vote for our revolutionary party, ZanuPf. To imagine stooges in the State House is being schizophrenic, in my revolutionary view. Nada!Nada! MDC_CCC political mongrels must understand that they are wasting their stooges time. Vakadya mari ye Westminster Foundation, in vain, frustra, ab initio. To them, we say "Where ignorance is bliss, it is folly to be wise!". Political myopia is not a cup of tea for well informed majority Zimbabweans. Kkkkkkk! Nehanda forbid!

It's very evident that ZANU is using intimidation and violence in the rural areas both to the electorate and to the opposition. Recent examples are Gokwe and Binga where they made sure CCC couldn't hold their rally there. Using state apparatus to their advantage is not popularity.

My opinion is not humble on this one:

That's true..CCC is strong in the rural but imagine what happens to you when you want a farm or field/property from a Zanu chief (all chiefs are Zanu) after voting CCC??
There is still that fear of intimidation but people know what they want. Imagine the obstacles and the bullets that missed Nero when just campaigning..what happens to his people thereafter??
I'm afraid CCC will win 2023 but won't be able to remove those power hungry vampires just because they have resources to do that..they wouldnt show their true colors on by-elections because they are less important than next year..
CCC must never ease out when dealing with this issue..there should be continuous monitoring especially from now onwards.
