The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has appointed Beatrice Tonhodzayi to its board.
Tonhodzayi was appointed to the ZTA Board by the Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu.
Tonhodzayi is currently the Account Manager of the APO Group, a leading Pan-African communications consultancy and press release distribution service.
She will continue to work full-time at APO Group, as well as use her experience and knowledge of the African media landscape to build upon Zimbabwe’s reputation as an attractive tourist destination.
Other members of the ZTA Board include Precious Munzara, a lecturer at Zimbabwe’s Midlands State University, and Ray Mawerera, a Marketing and PR expert who is the former President of the Zimbabwe Institute of Public Relations.
Tonhodzayi said she relishes her new challenge and pledged to bring her experience to support tourism in Zimbabwe. She said:
In the last year working with APO Group, I have relished the opportunity to build greater relationships with African media – both in Zimbabwe and beyond.
I’m really excited to be able to bring some of that experience to support tourism in my home country.
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority is doing fantastic work in branding Zimbabwe as a leading tourist destination in Africa, and it is wonderful to be a part of that mission.
