AFM Bans Unauthorised Use Of Church Logo On Merchandise

AFM Bans Unauthorised Use Of Church Logo On Merchandise

The Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) has implored church members and assemblies to desist from using the church logo to brand their merchandise.

In a circular addressed to all church members and copied to provincial secretaries/treasurers and the treasurer-general, the church’s secretariat said members and assemblies are not allowed to sell AFM branded merchandise without authorisation. Part of the memo reads:

USAGE OF AFM IN ZIMBABWE LOGO AND PRODUCTION AND SALE OF AFM IN ZIMBABWE BRANDED MERCHANDISE

Greetings

The above subject refers

We are concerned with the unauthorized use of the church’s logo and the production of AFM in Zimbabwe branded merchandise for resale by members and assemblies in our provinces.

We are also concerned by the unauthorized use of AFM in Zimbabwe name and logo on social media especially on private and personal pages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms.

In most of these instances, the users are accruing personal gains by the use of the church’s name and logo. We appreciate the love for our church. Sadly we have to kindly advise that the practise should stop forthwith.

Authorization should be sought and obtained for the use of the church’s name and logo through provincial secretaries and treasurers.

The production of any material will be allowed only if the Ladies Department and the Youth Department are unable to make and provide the merchandise required.

These are the only departments that are permitted to produce and sell church regalia and other merchandise and such items as hymn books.

We direct and instruct all our members, assemblies and provinces to contact these departments for all AFM in Zimbabwe merchandise that you may require. The contact persons are:

Pastor T. Muroyiwa 0719329277 Youth Department
Elder L. Ndlovu 0772101342 Youth Department
Mrs P. Katakwa 0777991543 Ladies Department
Mrs F. Musasa 0772274051 Ladies Department

Today is a Sunday, and, presently, their church members are in their churches. Is it not proper to just include it with Church Notices? Are they not leading their members into temptation encouraging them to use the Devil's Playground, which is what Social Media should be to their believers?
