A 50-year-old woman was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant in Hwange on Tuesday.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) which is investigating the case say the assailant ran away after some passers-by rushed to the scene when they heard the deceased screaming. Pindula News presents a police statement on the case:
The ZRP is investigating a murder case in which a female victim (50) was fatally stabbed several times all over the body with a knife by an unknown suspect along a footpath in a bushy area near Conwall Rd, Colliery, Hwange on 08/02/22
The suspect ran away after passers-by, who heard the victim screaming, rushed to the scene of crime. #notomurder
In a different case, ZRP is investigating a robbery case that occurred at Borrow mine, Coleen Bawn, Gwanda on Monday the 7th of this month at around 1900 hours.
It is alleged that three suspects who were armed with machetes, axes and iron rods attacked a complainant who was selling some groceries in a wooden tuckshop. Read a police statement:
The suspects threatened to kill the complainant while demanding cash. They stole cash amounting to ZAR17 500, a cellphone and various groceries.
Reported cases of armed robbery have been on the rise nationwide.
